    FACTS & TRIVIA
    • This is a prequel to the 1994 comedy Dumb & Dumber starring Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels.

    • Eric was repeatedly denied the role of Lloyd because the producers thought he was "too good-looking". It was only after seeing some home-video footage of Eric in full make-up improvising a scene with already-cast Derek Richardson that they gave him the role.

    • Many of the young actors in the film were cast largely due to being huge Dumb & Dumber fans.

    • Eric and Shia LaBeouf also co-star in thriller Eagle Eye.

    • Both Eric and Mimi Rogers were series regulars on ""The Loop".

    • Eric is featured on the DVD commentary.
    REVIEWS
    • You see, unfortunately for everyone involved, the script sucks to high heaven and despite the two leads trying their best (Eric Christian Olsen does a great Jim Carrey!), nothing really comes together other than one or two small sketch scenes and a couple of one-liners here and there. - JoBlo.com

    • On a positive note, the leads do an effective job of aping their more famous predecessors. - Premiere.com

    • To their credit, Olsen and Richardson do pass muster as younger versions of the Jim Carrey/Jeff Daniels double act (Olsen is particularly credible, even sounding like Carrey did in the original). Between them, thanks to their continued child-like innocence and inability to grasp the complexities of the real world, they manage to squeeze a smattering of laughs from the material. - Empire Online

    • I don't think it wanted to try to be like the first film, because it knew that it couldn't be and never would be. So it's just a sappy little 90-minute movie with a few good gags and a notably convincing portrayal of a younger Jim Carrey (or Lloyd Chrismas) from Eric Christian Olsen. His face is often contorted with an arched eyebrow. To those who said he didn't look like Jim Carrey: shame on you. He's even got the movements and physical gestures down pat. - WiredOnMovies.com
