• Eric was born on May 31, 1977• He was born in Eugene, Oregon, but grew up in Bettendorf, Iowa • His dad is an English professor, who teaches African American literature and Holocaust remembrance literature. • His mom is a non-denominational chaplain who works in the cancer and AIDS ward in a hospital. • He has a brother. • He likes the band Radiohead. • Favorite book is Sophie's Choice by William Styron. • Eric loves to surf. • He likes the movie Fight Club, which stars Brad Pitt and Edward Norton. • He was a highly regarded hockey player in high school. • He was pre-med at Pepperdine University, and graduated in 2002 with a major in Child Psychology and a minor in English Literature. • His senior year (1995), Eric was a staff writer for the Bettendorf High School's monthly newspaper, "The Growl." • His first acting job was in a Whitey's ice cream parlor TV commercial. • He had a principal role in nearly every high school play and musical for 4 years and even some of the high school plays when he was in elementary school. • In 2000, he was nominated for a Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a TV series - Young Ensemble for Get Real. He shares his nomination with Jesse Eisenberg, Anne Hathaway and Kyle Gibson. • Eric was in a gifted program in elementary school. • He did improv comedy. • He is friends with Chris Evans, his Not Another Teen Movie and Cellular co-star. • Chris mentions on the Not Another Teen Movie DVD commentary that Eric was the first person he met in LA. • Lost the role of Johnny Storm in The Fantastic Four to Chris. • Plays for NBAE team the Nuggets with Nick Carter and actors Brad Rowe and Michael Rapaport. • Is claustrophobic. • Eric auditioned for the part of Izzy in The Last Kiss, but that part was already cast so they asked him to audition for Kenny. • At The Last Kiss Press Conference, Zach Braff mentioned that he filmed those Podcasts with Eric on the set of Eric's new movie (probably referring to License to Wed). << BACK |
