    NCIS: LA STILLS
Posted by Gwen in Gallery update on 19 Apr 2010 || comments (0) ||
I've added two stills from the NCIS: Los Angeles episode "Hand-to-Hand" (#1.19). I will cap the ep soon, as well as Eric's third appearance on Community.

Eric is currently shooting The Thing in Canada with Mary Elizabeth Winstead. His next NCIS: LA episode "Fame" (#1.20) is scheduled to air on April 27.

NCIS: LA ADDING HANDSOME NEW REGULAR?
Posted by Gwen in News on 19 Apr 2010 || comments (1) ||
    Via TV Guide Magazine:

Viewers of NCIS: Los Angeles’s April 6 episode were treated to a big surprise at the very end when guest villain Eric Christian Olsen was revealed to be an undercover cop. Then came an even bigger surprise when Hetty (Linda Hunt) told Eric’s character that she’d been watching him for some time and offered him the position of liaison to the NCIS: LA team. As fans of the original NCIS know, that’s how longtime liaison Ziva David (Cote de Pablo), still awaiting citizenship, was ushered in to the NCIS gang.

“They kept a pretty tight lid on me showing up at all,” said Eric, who is about to take off for Canada to shoot a remake of 80’s monster movie, "The Thing." “I wasn’t allowed to Twitter, Facebook or talk about it at all. I couldn’t even tell my family.”

For those who may have missed the episode, Eric started out the episode as martial artist Jason Wyler who battled LL Cool J’s Sam, also undercover to investigate a murder. When both characters were arrested and promptly released, that’s when it was revealed that Jason too was a special agent named Marty Deeks. “Sam was undercover for NCIS and I was undercover for LAPD,” says the actor, 32. “It was a great twist nobody saw coming.”

Eric, already a fan of the show, will be making one last guest appearance this season on the April 27 episode (CBS, 9 pm ET/PT) when he is enlisted to assist with a murder case involving “an infamous socialite in Los Angeles,” previews Eric. “It’s a good episode with clubs and mansions in the hills.”

Interestingly, the character will be paired up with Special Agent Kensi Blye (Daniela Ruah). Since Eric says the two share strong chemistry, might there be a chance these two could find romance next season? Clarifying that he’s so far signed for only two episodes, Eric says, “As far as the future, we don’t know anything about what undercover work he might be doing. I had an amazing experience on those two episodes of NCIS. It’s a great cast and crew to be working with. And I grew up loving LL Cool J. I was a little kid in suburban Iowa walking around with my left pant leg rolled up like he did. I knew all the lyrics to his songs so meeting him was a big deal.”

Bottom line: if CBS makes a series regular offer, Eric, who co-stars with Jennifer Lopez and Alex O’Loughlin in this month’s "The Back-up Plan" (from CBS films), would be seriously tempted to put his movie career on hold. Says the actor, “What this character did prior to us meeting him is a great story and there’s a lot more to explore. So who knows?”
ERIC GUEST STARRING ON NCIS: LA TOMORROW

    MORE CAST FOR THING PREQUEL
Posted by Gwen in News on 24 Mar 2010 || comments (4) ||
    Via Empire Online:

The upcoming prequel to John Carpenter's The Thing is scuttling towards its production start date like an upside-down head with spider legs. We already knew that Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Death Proof) was heading to Antarctica along with Joel Edgerton ("Uncle" Owen Lars in the Star Wars prequels), but now Shock Til You Drop has the skinny on practically everyone else.

The impressively Norse call sheet now includes Dennis Storhøi, who was the "joyous" Herger in The Thirteenth Warrior; Fallen Angels star Trond Espen Seim; Jørgen Langhelle from Elling; Manhunt's Kristofer Hivju; Stig Henrik Hoff; Jan Gunnar Røise; and Jo Adrian Haavind.

And according to Bloody Disgusting, Eric Christian Olsen, who turned up in Eagle Eye, Beerfest and Cellular, has also been cast.

The director is Matthijs Van Heijningen, the script has been through the hands of Battlestar Galactica's Ronald D Moore and Eric Heisserer, and there's shamefully very rarely any mention of Howard Hawks in Thing stories, so here's one.

I hope Eric's casting will be confirmed soon! Mary Elizabeth Winstead is one of my fave actresses and I would love to see Eric and Mary in a movie together!
